The short version: you own your data. We store it securely in Australia. Your plan renews monthly and you can cancel anytime. Our AI is helpful but not guaranteed accurate. Don't abuse the service. Below are the full terms.
the davis planner ("tdp", "we", "us") is a task management application available at thedavisplanner.com as a progressive web app (PWA) and as a native iOS app via the Apple App Store. By creating an account or using the service on any platform, you agree to these terms.
You must be at least 13 years old to use tdp (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity on your account. One person per account — accounts cannot be shared. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately at support@thedavisplanner.com.
tdp offers three plans: Free ($0), Plus ($4/month), and Pro ($8/month). Paid plans are billed monthly and auto-renew unless cancelled. On the web, billing is handled by Stripe. On iOS, billing is handled by Apple via in-app purchase — payment is charged to your Apple ID and managed through iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. You can cancel anytime — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. No refunds are issued for unused portions of a month (for Apple purchases, Apple's refund policy applies). We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. We never see or store your card details on any platform.
You own everything you create. Tasks, notes, tags, and list content belong to you. We store your data on servers in Sydney, Australia (Supabase infrastructure), encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We do not sell, share, or monetise your data. Third parties that process data on our behalf:
If you delete your account, we remove your data within 30 days. Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days before automatic deletion.
The AI assistant (Pro plan, 150 messages/month) is powered by Anthropic's Claude API. AI responses are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or suitable for your needs. You must independently verify any AI output before relying on it. We do not use your task data to train AI models — data sent to Anthropic is processed solely to generate your response and is subject to Anthropic's terms.
You must not use the AI assistant to generate illegal, harmful, harassing, or deceptive content, or to attempt prompt injection, jailbreaking, or security bypass.
Email digests are sent via Resend from noreply@thedavisplanner.com. You choose the time, timezone, and recipients for each list. Emails include only your task data (due today + overdue items). You can disable alerts at any time from the Email Alerts settings. We comply with anti-spam regulations — all emails include identification and are only sent to configured recipients.
Calendar sync connects tdp to your Apple or Google Calendar. You authorise us to create, update, and delete calendar events that correspond to your tasks. We access only the calendars you explicitly select. Sync failures or delays may occur — always verify important events in your native calendar app. Calendar sync is also subject to Apple's and Google's respective terms of service.

We'll always contact you before taking action on fair use concerns, except in cases of clear abuse or security threats.
the davis planner has a zero-tolerance policy for abusive, illegal, or objectionable content on any surface where other users may be exposed to it — including shared list content and AI assistant interactions. You agree not to use the service to post, share, generate, or transmit:
You also agree not to attempt to circumvent, jailbreak, or manipulate the AI assistant into producing any of the above.
If you encounter content or a user that violates this policy, use the in-app controls: tap the ⋯ menu on any shared-list member and choose Report or Block, or tap the report icon on any AI assistant response. Reporting files a record for human review — we aim to review reports promptly and will take appropriate action where a violation is confirmed. Blocking is a separate action that removes you from the shared list and prevents the blocked user from re-inviting you. You can unblock users from Settings at any time. We reserve the right to remove content, suspend, or permanently terminate accounts that violate this policy, at our sole discretion, without prior notice.
We implement the following security measures to protect your account and data:
These measures are provided on a best-effort basis. No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your email account and password secure.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for data loss, missed deadlines, calendar sync failures, notification delivery failures, or any consequences arising from service unavailability. The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the davis planner, its developer, and any affiliated parties shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, business opportunity, or anticipated savings, regardless of whether such damages are based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the service shall not exceed the lesser of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $50 AUD. This limitation applies to all causes of action in the aggregate, including breach of contract, tort, and any other legal theory.
You acknowledge that the service relies on third-party infrastructure (Supabase, Stripe, Apple, Anthropic, Resend, Google) and we are not liable for failures, outages, or data handling by those providers. Calendar sync, email alerts, AI responses, and push notifications are provided on a best-effort basis and should not be relied upon for time-critical or safety-critical purposes.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the davis planner, its developer, and any affiliated parties from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the service, your violation of these terms, your content, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
You may close your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice except in urgent security situations. Upon termination, you have 30 days to export your data before it is permanently deleted.
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Perth, Western Australia.
